Over To You: Survivors' Network launches new kitemark for local businesses and organisations

International Women's Day 2018 marks the start of the OverToYou Kitemark issued by Survivors' Network. Looking to turn the #MeToo movement into further palpable change, the organisation has created a pledge for local businesses and organisations to sign up to in order to demonstrate the active work they are undertaking to challenge sexual harassment and violence in the workplace. 

Prominent local community members Caroline Lucas (Co-Leader of the Green Party of England and Wales) and Sarah Springford (Director of the Brighton & Hove Chamber of Commerce) have signed a letter in support of

TIME'S UP on Sexual Abuse, Harassment & Inequality

Women who work and volunteer in the Rape Crisis movement are among signatories to an activists' letter of unity released on Sunday 18th February, in solidarity with 200 women from the entertainment industry as they launched their Time's Up UK campaign to coincide with the BAFTAs. 

 

“For each woman in the entertainment industry who has spoken out, there are thousands of women whose stories go unheard …

 

These are not isolated incidents. This is about power and inequality; and it is systemic.

CHANGING THE CULTURE: FREE OPEN SPACE CONFERENCE

 

You are invited to join us at our free Open Space Conference! This is a wonderful way to meet new people, have conversations about an important issue in our community, and get to know the services offered by Survivors' Network (the local Rape Crisis Centre).


After two successful previous Open Space events, this year's topic will be on 'Changing the Culture'. It's up to you where we go from there, and what cultural changes you want to talk about.

Merry Christmas from Survivors' Network

[Christmas Opening Times: The Dropin and Helpline services will be closed from Thursday 22nd December to Tuesday 3rd January inclusive. The office will be open until the 23rd December and will return on the 3rd January. 
The national Rape Crisis helpline will be open as usual throughout the holiday period, every day between 12pm-2.30pm and 7pm-9.30pm on 0808 802999.]
