Can Do Fitness Sessions for Survivors

The aim of this series of workshops will be to help reconnect survivors with their bodies for mental and physical wellbeing, and empower them to support each other for ongoing positive change. Helping to tackle issues such as stress, anxiety, panic attacks, and managing one’s feelings and emotions through exercise rather than accepted talking therapies and with the addition of peer support is a new approach, eg channelling aggression or anger through boxing style circuits, in a safe environment while getting fitter and stronger both physically and mentally.


When and where will it take place? The programme will take place at Brightelm on Tuesday evenings, 7pm-8pm( times tbc), from June to August 2015


Who is it for? Self-identified women aged 18 or over. All levels of fitness welcome!

As a cancer survivor, she used exercise to help reconnect with her own body through treatment and beyond. 


Siobhan will be assisted by one of our highly trained women volunteers who work for our dropin service.


How long will the programme run for? The programme will run for 10 weeks with a break in the middle. Come along to all sessions or feel free to drop in.


How much does it cost? The programme is free. However, we ask for voluntary donations of £2 per session


How do I book? Feel free to drop in on the night, though booking is strongly recommended to avoid disappointment.
