Uniting Against Sexual Violence: A Conversation About Short Film “The Rape Clause”
March 10, 2021
We're excited to collaborate with Kino London to bring you this event
The fabulous filmmakers Jared Watmuff and Maria Hildebrand created a film called “The Rape Clause” based on current government legislation being called “one of the most inhumane and barbaric policies ever to emanate from Whitehall” (MSP Alison Thewliss, 2017), looking at the real-life impact this clause can have on survivors.
The film is being featured as part of Kino London’s “The People’s Film Festival”, celebrating powerful short films and awarding financial prizes for winners in a range of categories – with “The Rape Clause” nominated for four awards!
The filmmakers will be joined by our ISVA co-ordinator Helen for a Q&A all about the film and its background, co-hosted by Survivors’ Network & Kino London. Our CEO Jay Breslaw will be asking the Qs – do send us any you have in advance!
The Q&A will air as a Facebook Live on our page and on the festival page, with the film shown before through the Festival (it’s pay-what-you-can to register).
