Children’s Independent Sexual Violence Advisor (CISVA)
A Children’s ISVA is here to support you whilst police are investigating what has happened. They do this explaining the police process, explaining your rights and by answering any questions you have as they arise. They will also offer you court support if the police investigation goes to trial.
Children’s ISVAs will usually work with you and your immediate care givers to make sure they can help you make sense of what has happened and understand what will happen at each stage.
Our Children’s ISVA’s can also offer practical and emotional support with other things not related to the police investigation. This might include advocacy support when working with other services or recommending new services that can help you too.
