Closure of our therapy waiting lists
Survivors’ Network is the Rape Crisis Centre for Sussex and we have been delivering support for survivors of sexual violence and abuse for over 30 years.
We have made the difficult decision to close the following waiting lists for therapy with immediate effect (from 5pm on Friday 11th November 2022):
- Therapy for self-identifying adult women in Brighton and Hove (for a minimum period of 12 months)
- Young people’s therapy in East Sussex (for minimum period of 6 months)
This is because of the significant increase in demand for therapy without a sustained increase in funding, which is being seen across the country. This has led to extensive waiting times for therapy.
We understand the important role that therapy can play in the recovery journey for survivors so during the time that the list is closed, we will be streamlining our processes, seeking additional funding and looking at ways to work with more clients. If you are interested in accessing therapy via other services, consider these options.
All our other services remain open as usual. We believe you and are still here for you.
We support survivors of all ages and genders across our services, which include groupwork, a helpline & email support service, an ISVA Service and therapy. A full list of our services is available here.
If you are already on the waiting list, you will remain on the list. Anyone already receiving therapy will continue to be able to receive this support. Referrals received up until Friday 11th November at 5pm will be added to the waiting list.
We will be contacting all clients on the list to check if they are still eligible and interested in accessing the service.
If you have any concerns or questions about your referral, please contact us on info@survivorsnetwork.org.uk
