Meeting E6 Compliance: Supporting Survivors in Higher Education Training

Sexual violence and harassment in Higher Education can profoundly affect students’ lives, wellbeing, and academic engagement. Disclosures of abuse or assault can occur unexpectedly, and staff in many roles may be the first point of contact for survivors. Understanding how to respond compassionately, safely, and in line with Condition E6 is essential for creating a supportive and trauma-informed campus.

Our HEI Sexual Violence training is designed with a survivor-centred approach, helping staff develop confidence, practical skills, and a deep understanding of the impacts of trauma. Participants learn how to respond effectively to disclosures while ensuring students feel heard, supported, and empowered.

Through reflective discussions, case studies, and practical exercises, staff explore the realities of sexual violence, the psychological and educational impacts of trauma, and the university’s responsibilities under Office for Students E6 compliance. This training helps institutions foster a safer, more supportive environment for all students.
