Survivors’ Network Joins Lewes FC for International Men’s Day
This Saturday, Lewes FC and Survivors’ Network are teaming up once again to celebrate International Men’s Day. With this year’s theme of “Positive Male Role Models,” we’re focusing on the importance of supportive male figures and highlighting the strength and resilience of male survivors of sexual violence.
1 in 6 men suffer some kind of sexual harassment or abuse over their lifetime. As Sussex’s dedicated support centre for survivors of sexual abuse and violence, Survivors’ Network offers a safe space and vital resources for survivors of all genders, and we recognise that male survivors often face unique challenges in speaking out and accessing support. By joining forces with Lewes FC, a club known for its commitment to equality and social change, we aim to encourage conversations around masculinity, vulnerability, and empathy—essential qualities in breaking down harmful stigmas.
During the match, we’ll share stories and insights that honor the role of positive male mentors and allies, who help create a culture of respect and support. Together with Lewes FC and their supporters, we’re advocating for a world where male survivors feel empowered to seek support, and where compassion and solidarity define what it means to be a “role model.” Join us on Saturday as we stand united in support of male survivors and celebrate the power of positive male figureheads in our society.
