This guide was create by and for parents, carers and those supporting survivors with learning disabilities.
DownloadPeople with learning disabilities can face increased barriers to recognising, disclosing and getting support for sexual abuse. Information and resources also aren’t always designed with the experiences and communication needs of people with learning disabilities in mind.
This resource was lovingly developed by a survivor and their parent, who found it difficult to find accessible, relevant information and support for survivors with learning difficulties or disabilities.
It aims to provide helpful information for survivors, parents and carers, and professionals or others supporting someone with a learning disability who has experienced sexual abuse.
