Trauma Sensitive Yoga

Trauma-sensitive yoga offers a gentle, empowering space for survivors of sexual violence to reconnect with themselves without pressure or expectation.

Trauma Sensitive yoga is a style of yoga practice that prioritises a sense of safety, control, choice and empowerment when practising, with a particular awareness of the impact of trauma on the nervous system. It is a slow form of yoga mixture of standing and more restorative postures.

It also explores some ‘somatic’ yoga, which can feel very gentle, nourishing, freeing and calming. This generally involves some slow rolling, rocking, shaking, stretching and releasing movements.
