Young Survivors Peer Support Group
We are running a group for young survivors between the age of 14 - 18 years old.
Our Peer Support Groups are a safe, welcoming space for young people aged 14–18 who have experienced sexual violence, abuse or harassment. Whether something happened recently or a long time ago, you’re welcome here. You don’t have to share your story—you can take part in whatever way feels comfortable for you.
What to expect
Groups take place in Brighton, Hastings and Eastbourne and usually run in 10-week programmes, although many young people stay for longer. Sessions include:
- A check-in
- A weekly topic
- Optional discussions and creative activities
- A check-out
You don’t have to attend every week—you can take a break and return whenever you need to. Groups are usually organised by age and gender and are trans and non-binary inclusive.
Topics we explore
Together we’ll explore topics such as:
- Understanding trauma
- Self-care and grounding techniques
- Managing anxiety, sleep and intrusive thoughts
- Emotional wellbeing
- Personal safety
- Healthy boundaries
- Self-worth and empowerment
There are also optional creative activities such as painting, candle making, felting and slime-making, or you can simply come along for a chat and a hot drink.
Joining a group
If you’re already supported by our Children and Young People’s Service, speak to your ISVA about joining. If you’re new to Survivors’ Network, you can self-refer or ask a professional to refer you. We’ll help you find the group that’s right for you. Please note there may be a waiting list.
