Five Years of Change the Culture Training

Why It Still Matters

This year, we celebrate five years since the launch of Change the Culture, —a training program designed to challenge the way we think, talk, and act around sexual violence. In that time, we’ve seen workplaces, organisations, and communities begin to shift towards more informed, survivor-centred, and accountable spaces. But the work is far from done.

With over 15 years of delivering expert training under our belt, Change The Culture was born from the need to provide individual, engaging and affordable ways for anyone to access our training and join us in challenging stigma, breaking down stereotypes and creating a culture of accountability that support survivors of sexual violence.

Why Changing the Culture Matters

Sexual violence doesn’t exist in a vacuum. It thrives in cultures that look the other way, minimize harm, or fail to hold people accountable. When we talk about changing the culture, we mean:

Equipping people with the knowledge to recognize and challenge harmful attitudes.

Creating environments where survivors are believed and supported.

Ensuring workplaces and communities understand their role in preventing harm.

Over the last five years, Change The Culture training has helped organisations build safer, more inclusive spaces—where conversations about sexual violence aren’t avoided but met with care, confidence, and action.

An Affordable, Impactful Solution for 2025

In a world where budgets are tight, Change the Culture aims to act as an accessible, cost-effective solution for organisations and individuals who want to do better. That’s why we’ve worked hard to keep Change the Culture affordable, flexible, and open to anyone who wants to be part of the change with subsidised options available for trainee therapists, statutory sector workers, NHS employees, comprehensive school staff, and individuals working or volunteering for small charities and organisations.

We feel that everyone deserves access to high-quality training on sexual violence awareness and prevention.

The Power of Conversations

The biggest lesson from five years of Change the Culture? Talking about sexual violence changes everything.

When organisations open up space for these conversations, the ripple effects are huge:

  •  Survivors feel seen, heard, and supported.
  • Bystanders feel more confident speaking up.
  •  Cultures of accountability are created and Harmful behaviours are not tolerated.

Culture change doesn’t happen overnight. But five years in, we’ve seen that when people are given the tools, the knowledge, and the confidence to engage in these conversations, real change follows.

Be Part of the Change

Five years in, we know that this work matters. And we know that real culture change comes from all of us—learning, unlearning, speaking up, and holding each other accountable.

If you’ve been part of Change the Culture over the years—thank you. And if you’re ready to start the conversation, we’d love to have you join us.
