Young People’s Sexual Violence Advisor (ISVA)
Young People’s ISVA’s work directly with you, making sure you have all the information you need so you know what to expect from the police process and answer any questions you have so that you feel empowered to make informed decisions. They will also offer you court support if the police investigation goes to trial.
You have a right to access this support independently of family/friends, so Young People’s ISVA’s won’t pass on information to others unless you ask us to – except in situations where we are concerned about your safety or the safety of someone else. Please see our safeguarding responsibility here for more information.
All our ISVA’s can also offer practical and emotional support with other things not related to the police investigation. This might include advocacy support when working with other services or recommending new services that can help you too.
