Reflecting on headlines like these only motivate our work. We support many student-survivors, and witness directly some varied responses from university staff.

We have developed a specific and comprehensive “Consent for Universities” Webinar for students, but this must be supported by having skilled staff who hold adequate and enhanced knowledge to fulfil their duty of care for students. This way, they can best support student-survivors, as well as take measures to address and tackle the widespread epidemic of sexual violence in universities.

Our Higher Education lead has designed specialist Sexual Safety training to upskill across different university staff teams. If you have concerns about the responses of your institution, you could ask what training has been provided to staff, and even apply pressure to ensure the implementation of consistent, quality training at your university. 📢‼️
